Change is all around us at the moment. Some change is put upon us – like lockdown restrictions, physical distancing practices, and maybe health or job changes. And some changes we make ourselves. Maybe, like me, you have taken time to rethink some of the things you do or the way you do them. These changes can cause frustration or confusion. That’s why this Scripture Plan is a list of Bible Verses about Change and Transition.

Instead of following a particular book of the Bible, for this Scripture Plan I have chosen to put together some Bible verses about change as we may need reassurance, confirmation, encouragement or a challenge at these times.
Bible Verses about change and Transition
I’ve divided the verses for this Scripture Plan on change into four different categories which we will walk through as we read the Bible verses each day. Keep reading to find a couple of verses from each section.
God never Changes
We begin with verses about God never changing. This is a great place to start when the world, and our lives, seem so altered. It is good to be reminded that God never changes.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God. Psalm 90:2

Bible verses about change and moving on
It is natural to feel some anxiety when things seem to be out of our control. But, as we move on while facing uncertainty it is good to remember that we can always trust in God because he is not surprised by these changes. He knows and will guide us.
“For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

God initiates change
While God never changes, he does cause change to happen. There are different seasons in the world and in our lives, and he often brings about new beginnings. Maybe you feel like you are at the beginning of a new season in your life.
“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new;
even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven:. Eccliesiastes 3: 1

Bible verses about transformation
And finally, God seeks to see change in us! There are many verses in Scripture about people being transformed through the Power of the Holy Spirit and the works of Jesus Christ. Is it possible that God is bringing about change in your life in order to transform you? Here are just a couple of verses which you could use as prayers at this time.
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
These books are available on kindle so you can still purchase them, and get immediate access, without leaving your home or requiring someone else to deliver them! I’ve chosen a devotion and some books that are connected with making changes in your life, and I chose the book ‘Cultivate’ because it says a lot about being in different seasons of our lives. I have been reminded of this frequently lately.
So, that’s just a small selection of the verses in this Scripture Plan for change and transition. What other verses are you turning to for strength and encouragement at this time?
